My journey into the MLM industry was very much like an accident, or should I say by chance... I was only 17 then and working in a retail shop named, Benhur. At that time, this brand was hip among those teenagers of my time.
One day, I was attending to this couple and they said my service was excellent.... I smiled at them and said to myself "Well, many customers said that before and my boss doesn't even knows it...what's point of saying?" Anyway, they invited me to this "seminar" and said that this is a special event and not open to the public, I was like "WOW! I want in...."
That day, I got to know this term called MLM but I have no clue what that is and what the hell to do with it! I had many questions and all I know was to pay 1000 bucks for a magnetic mattress and to make money, I need to sell it to my family, relatives and friends... I told them that I don't have that kind of money and thinking that it was a scheme, I walked off...
However, I was very attracted to the kind of energy that the presenter(also the boss of the company) projected. The crumbs left by him, still attracts me to the Network Marketing industry today....
Well, the rest was hisory and I continued to work till I further my studies at ITE and entlisted for National Service and finally decided to join the Navy as most of my friends are there. Of course along the way, I still get "pullled in" for those talks or presentation as they usually say.
I have never wanted to join the Navy, never my passion but rather my duty or obligation so to speak. Infact before I sign-on with them, I used to laugh at my friends for making that decision.... My brain tells me that I will be brain-dead if I join the force(routine life).
But, maybe this was a blessing in disguise. A starting of a new beginning......
To be continued tommorrow(maybe later in the night).....
