Almost 2 years had passed. I never laid on my hands on Network Marketing again.... I did nothing except living the life I have used to. However, I didn't gave up on this concept of creating passive income.

Although I always talked about passive income, I didn't realise that creating passive income needs tons and tons of effort and hardwork!

Just to side track abit....

A year after I gave up on MLM, my business partner Winson(remember? the gift from god), called me....

Guess what he said to me?

I was very excited to see the both of them. I maintained my composure and walked up to them and shook their hands with confidence. I sat with them throughout the presentation without moving an inch.... so nervous....

Finally the presentation is over. I asked them if they have any questions........ At first I thought, they were interested and something seems to tell me that they weren't serious about it.

Its just a hunch...I don't know. Maybe they want to have a seperate discussion in private. So, I exchanged my name card and followed up with an email to them the next day.

The next thing I knew, my uncle called and asked me to meet him at a nearby cafe. ALRIGHT..... My 1st sign-up! Yahoo....! I gather all the essential forms and rushed down to meet him.

Never did it crossed my mind that he was also in the networking industry.....

"Son, as your uncle, I am proud of you. At your age ( i was 23 then) to be involve in business is a very good start to your future. Very happy for you....."

Blah...blah...blah... Whatever.

He started to talk to me about his company and showed me his compensation plan(binary). I remembered that Winson said binary is the worst of all compensation plans as it doesn't add value to the downline and it makes no business sense.

As an act of courtesy, I remain silent and listened to his stuff. After that, I asked "why don't you join my company? Is there anything wrong?"

He couldn't give me a satisfactory answer and even after much probing, he managed to change the subject. He started asking me about my family.

At the end of the day, nothing come out of it and I felt fustrated and was wondering what went wrong? Is there anything wrong with the presentation? Is there any reason for him to do this?

I gave up.....

What made me decide on joining this "HOT" company? Infact, Pharmanex is using technoloy to educate consumers that supplements should be part of our lives and be taken religiously. The scanner was a very powerful tool, it measures how healthy you are by giving you a score. The higher the better.

Is because of their products? Was it their compensation plan? Or do I hunger for success badly? All I knew was, if I stick to those people who have done it or someone who is more experience than me, the chances of success are high I suppose.... Winson is someone I believe that can help me to be successful. With his business knowledge and know-how, achieving success is a matter of time.

I did whatever he said. Create my list of contacts, both warm and cold. Cold-calling and follow-up. Made appointments with my list, they never turned up. Call me back in a few days, they never called. I even tried the internet but to no avail. What happened? Did I do anything wrong? I know the road to success is a long one, but it never cross my mind that its that difficult.......

One day, I tried to prospect my uncle. We seldom see each other. My impression is that he a grumpy old man and although he belongs to the upper-middle income people, and the last thing I wanted was to prospect him. I manage to get some help from his wife(she is more approachable) and finally contacted him.

The "cold-calling" was successfully done up and the appointment was made. Great! I am one step closer to my success. The day has come, nervous and excited at the same time. He brought a friend along......

The date was 5th NOV 2001 when I got enlisted. At that time, I was....... let me see.... oh ya, 20 years of age and with long hair of course (sorry no pics, not used to taking photos)... So here I was in the Navy and 5 years have passed, well... almost( ORD=04-11-2006 hooya....).

Remember the blessing in disguise that I talked about yesterday? This blessing was a Gift from GOD. Winson is the name and doing business is his game. Before I talk more about him, allow me to side track abit.... The moment that I put my signature on the paper with the Navy, infact even before that, I told myself that to get out of there in 5 years (the wait will soon be finally over!), adopt an open-mindset to business opportunity, finish my liability with the force. I have a mission..... To Make It Big Out There!

Now, back to this guy, Winson. We met through the introduction of a guy named Robin. Don't worry about Robin, he is not in the picture... Let's focus on Winson and as I was saying, both of us were involved in Pharmanex. This company is a subsidary of Nuskin, meaning, they bought this pharmaceutical company and made it into a Network Marketing business model.

Winson was my upline and we attended a Very Grand seminar at the conference room of a hotel(sorry, forgot the exact name of it). The presenter is Nathan Ricks one the co-founders of Nuskin. The seminar was terrific! Very motivatonal and full of energy, one of the best I have ever seen. The following week, I meet up with Winson again and paid 2000 bucks for a leadership training program.

The honeymoon period lasted for about 2weeks and the motivation just took a nose dive. I don't know why I paid that kind of money, maybe it was because of the presentation, maybe its my 1st credit card or maybe its was him......

My journey into the MLM industry was very much like an accident, or should I say by chance... I was only 17 then and working in a retail shop named, Benhur. At that time, this brand was hip among those teenagers of my time.

One day, I was attending to this couple and they said my service was excellent.... I smiled at them and said to myself "Well, many customers said that before and my boss doesn't even knows it...what's point of saying?" Anyway, they invited me to this "seminar" and said that this is a special event and not open to the public, I was like "WOW! I want in...."

That day, I got to know this term called MLM but I have no clue what that is and what the hell to do with it! I had many questions and all I know was to pay 1000 bucks for a magnetic mattress and to make money, I need to sell it to my family, relatives and friends... I told them that I don't have that kind of money and thinking that it was a scheme, I walked off...

However, I was very attracted to the kind of energy that the presenter(also the boss of the company) projected. The crumbs left by him, still attracts me to the Network Marketing industry today....

Well, the rest was hisory and I continued to work till I further my studies at ITE and entlisted for National Service and finally decided to join the Navy as most of my friends are there. Of course along the way, I still get "pullled in" for those talks or presentation as they usually say.

I have never wanted to join the Navy, never my passion but rather my duty or obligation so to speak. Infact before I sign-on with them, I used to laugh at my friends for making that decision.... My brain tells me that I will be brain-dead if I join the force(routine life).

But, maybe this was a blessing in disguise. A starting of a new beginning......

To be continued tommorrow(maybe later in the night).....
